Born and raised in Powell River, BC, I returned in 2006 with my family to the best town to raise kids.
I retired in 2018 as Paramedic Chief with the BC Ambulance Service in Powell River. I served as a paramedic for 32 years.
I’ve been involved with community service organizations since my teens. I’ve served on City Council since 2014. I’ve learned a lot and faced some challenges.
I seek to connect good stuff happening in one part of the community to other parts. I see our community as a living entity, thriving because we individually thrive. And living in a thriving community helps us each thrive.
I am happily married to artist, Janet S. I live in an art gallery! and I have a son who graduated from Brooks Secondary School in ’16. He’s now a smoke jumper in Northern BC.
I’m an amateur musician, cyclist, kayaker, backpacker, sailor, and I try to be a gardener. I love Powell River’s outdoors and our cultural wealth. Best of all is our community spirit.
